About
KirkCats was started in 2014 by a group of friends concerned about the plight of free-roaming cats in the Kirkwood neighborhood of Atlanta.
By 2016, KirkCats volunteers had TNR'd (trap, neuter, returned) 200 cats and found homes for another 50.
KirkCats' goals are to:
Raise neighborhood awareness for community cats and provide a humane approach (Trap-Neuter-Return-Care) to curtail the cat population.
Encourage care for existing community cats.
Find homes for adoptable cats.
Today, KirkCats is a multi-area network of over 2,000 concerned individuals working to spay/neuter, care for, and share information and resources to help community cats in the Kirkwood neighborhood, other metro-Atlanta neighborhoods, and beyond.
KirkCats is a volunteer-run Georgia 501c3 nonprofit organization which raises funds to help with the medical care of intown Atlanta community cats. All donations go directly to community cat welfare.
